Visions
FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE Visions guide — echoes of Cloud, Y'shtola, Terra and more, how to unlock them at shrines, equip them, level them and build the best synergy.
Introduction
Visions are the heart of FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE's customization. They are echoes of iconic Final Fantasy characters — Cloud, Y'shtola, the Warrior of Light, Terra and more — who join your party with unique skills and the ability to fight alongside you. You unlock Visions at shrines scattered across the world, each tied to a story montage of that character's home game and a knowledge quiz for longtime fans. Every Vision can be equipped to a party member, levels up independently, and can be switched during cutscenes and in battle. This hub covers the confirmed roster, shrine locations, leveling and loadout strategy, so you can build a party of Visions that covers every elemental weakness the game throws at you.

Core Mechanics
The Visions system is built around shrines, equipment and independent progression. Vision shrines are scattered across the world, and each shrine unlocks a specific Vision — typically with a story montage celebrating that character's home game and a series knowledge quiz for longtime fans. Once unlocked, a Vision can be equipped to any party member and provides that character with the Vision's skills, elemental coverage and passive buffs. Each Vision levels up independently of your party, so investing in a Vision you use often pays off. Visions can be switched during cutscenes and even mid-battle, which means the right Vision swap at the right moment can turn a fight around.
Advantages
The Visions system is the game's most distinctive feature and a major draw for Final Fantasy fans. Seeing Cloud, Y'shtola, Terra and the Warrior of Light fight alongside your party is pure nostalgia, and their unique skills give real mechanical depth rather than just cameo value. Because each Vision brings a specific element and role, building your roster is a strategic layer on top of the party system — you choose Visions to cover elemental weaknesses and fill combat gaps. The shrine unlock structure also rewards exploration and series knowledge, giving completionists a clear set of goals beyond the main story.
Challenges
The biggest uncertainty is the roster itself. Only seven Visions are confirmed — Cloud, Y'shtola, the Warrior of Light, Terra, Zidane, Shantotto and Tidus — and the full list is not known before launch. Exact skills, passive buffs and leveling curves are based on preview impressions and official reveals, and may be rebalanced in the retail build. Vision shrine locations are also incomplete; we know shrines exist across the world but not every shrine's position has been confirmed. Until launch, treat the roster and abilities as a partial picture that will be completed with real gameplay data. We will fill these gaps as official announcements and real gameplay data arrive.

Quick Tips
Build a roster that covers every element before you commit to leveling. Thunder, water, fire, light, wind and dark coverage lets you press weaknesses in any region of the overworld. Elemental coverage is the single most important factor in building a strong Vision roster. A Vision that covers a missing element is worth more than a slightly stronger Vision that duplicates one you already have.
Switch Visions mid-battle when the matchup calls for it. A Vision that struggles in one fight can be swapped for one that covers the enemy's weakness, turning a bad matchup into an advantage. Keeping a flexible roster of leveled Visions means you always have the right answer for the next fight.
Level a small core of Visions rather than all of them. Independent progression means focused investment pays off far more than spreading your Vision experience thin across the whole roster. Focused investment also makes each Vision feel meaningfully stronger as its skills improve. A small set of high-level Visions beats a large pool of under-leveled ones in every difficult fight.
